Syracuse School of Architecture>
Campus & City
The discipline of architecture is uniquely positioned to demonstrate the underlying strength of scholarship in action as envisioned by Chancellor Nancy Cantor. The School's initiatives and curricular work are engaged with the city, its suburbs and institutions, as well as parks and open space. Our design studios have focused on downtown Syracuse under the guidance of the School of Architecture's Visiting Critic program, which includes leaders in the field, and the public outreach arm, UPSTATE: Center for Design, Research, and Real Estate at Syracuse Architecture. The School of Architecture collaborates with University partners and serves in an advisory role for decisions which have an impact on the campus, the city, and region in larger planning and revitalization strategies.
